The silver coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 11.66 grams of silver in proof quality and is dedicated to the Australovenator. The motive features an Australovenator chasing smaller dinosaurs as well as a reconstruction of the skeleton on whose discovery the description of the Australovenator was based. The inscriptions "AUSTRALOVENATOR", "DINOSAURS DOWNUNDER" and the denomination "1 DOLLAR" complete the design. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the year of issue. In the original, find AODL 604 (also called "Banjo") consists of a partial skeleton containing a left dentition, teeth, part of the fore and hind legs, part of the right ilium, ribs, and gastralia. The megaraptor theropod dinosaur, whose name refers both to its location in the southern hemisphere (Latin Austral, australis - "southern") and to its predatory lifestyle (Latin venator - "hunter"), lived about 100 million years ago in the Early Cretaceous and is the largest predator whose remains have been discovered in Australia to date. The limited Silver Coin Australovenator in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
