This set includes three coins from the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint. Each coin was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver - one coin in Proof quality, one coin in color and one coin with partial gilding. The coins are dedicated to the Year of the Goat 2027. The goat is the eighth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The motif of all three coins features a highly detailed depiction of three goats in a peaceful landscape. A mature goat, a young goat and a kid are shown resting and grazing together amid a rocky setting. The design refers to the traditional Chinese saying “Three Goats Bring Bliss” (Sān yáng kāi tài), symbolizing the end of winter, the arrival of spring, renewal, prosperity and auspicious new beginnings. The scene is complemented by a blossoming plum tree, symbolizing purity, resilience and hope. The intricate design also includes the Chinese character for “Goat”, the inscription “GOAT 2027”, and the Perth Mint’s traditional “P” mintmark. The reverses of the coins portray the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with the weight, fineness and denomination.
