This set includes three coins from the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint. Each coin was struck from one ounce of silver - one coin in proof quality, one coin in color and one coin with a partial gilding. The coins are dedicated to the Year of the Ox. Following the mouse, the Ox is the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The motive of all three coins depict an ox and its calf standing on a riverbank. Also included in the design are the Chinese character for "Ox", the inscription "OX 2021" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. Oxen possess an enormous work force and are the oldest documented draft animals, which are used in agriculture and other fields. Those born under the sign of the Chinese ox are considered friendly, intelligent, honest and reliable. They are characterized by a high work ethic, logical thinking and composure.
