The new issue of the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Rabbit. The rabbit is the fourth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The fourth gilded issue of the 12-year Lunar III series features a watchful rabbit with his ears erect next to another rabbit reaching out for a blooming twig. Both rabbits were partially gold-plated on the motive. The design also includes the Chinese character for "Rabbit," the inscription "RABBIT 2023" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and fineness.
