The tenth issue of the Australian Lunar Opal Series is dedicated in 2025 to the Year of the Snake. Following the dragon, the snake is the sixth of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac calendar. Struck by the Perth Mint from 1 Oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality, it incorporates an inner panel design of a snake detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel includes intricate patterning with depictions of stylized jasmine, a beautiful plant that is said to attract snakes. The inscription "YEAR OF THE SNAKE" and the mintmark "P" of The Perth Mint complete the design. The reverse shows the portrait of King Charles III as well as the denomination.

The zodiac sign of the snake is said to have particularly strong intuition, wisdom, intelligence and good powers of observation. Anyone born under the sign of the snake in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, 1965 and every 12th year before that is considered to be cultured, sensitive and philosophical as well as artistically inclined.
