Description
Year of the Tiger 2022 - Rectangular Coin
1/2 Oz Silver - Uncirculated - 3rd issue of the new Lunar Series
- 99.9% Silver
- Unique Rectangular Coin
- Mintage only 10,000 pieces
- Delivery in original Box
This rectangular coin is the third issue in the new Lunar Series by the Royal Australian Mint and was struck from a half ounce of 99,9% silver. In 2022, the silver coin is dedicated to the Year of the Tiger and is limited to only 10,000 pieces worldwide. The motive features a majestic tiger standing on rocky outcrop, surrounded by pine branches that represent his strength. In addition, the inscription "YEAR OF THE TIGER", the Chinese character for "tiger" and the weight and fineness are engraved. The reverse shows the Jody Clark portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue. The tiger is the third of twelve signs in the Chinese Zodiac calendar, following 2021, the Year of the Ox. While in the African and European region the lion is considered the "king of the jungle", this status is attributed to the tiger in the Asian region - not least because of its beauty and extraordinary strength. Those born under the sign of the Tiger in 2022, 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962 and every 12th year before that are considered sensitive, emotional and thoughtful. The Tiger generally stands for courage, spiritedness and bravery and excels as a born leader privately and professionally. Tigers are very success-oriented, but can also be prone to impatience. The limited rectangular silver coin Year of the Tiger 2022 is delivered in a capsule within the original box of the Royal Australian Mint.
