The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from 2 ounces of 99.99% pure silver with a mintage of only 2,888 pieces worldwide. The coin features two dragons against a background of clouds. The mythical creatures frame an intricately carved piece of mother-of-pearl, which shows a three-dimensional representation of the Chinese character for “dragon”. In addition, the inscription “YEAR OF THE DRAGON” appears on the reverse, along with the mintmark “P125”, which refers to the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. The coin also features details of the weight, purity and year. The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne, as well as the coin's face value.
