The Figure Eight Dragon & Phoenix coin was struck by the Perth Mint from 2 ounces of 99.99% pure silver. The motive features a dragon and a phoenix surrounded by stylised clouds. Each coin has been individually ‘antiqued’. As a result of this treatment, the appearance of each coin may vary. The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination, the weight, the fineness and the year of issue are shown on the coin’s obverse. The number eight is the luckiest number in Chinese culture. In Feng Shui, the dragon and the phoenix are considered perfect matches for each other.
