This large-format silver coin is titled The Outback and is issued by the renowned The Perth Mint. Struck from five ounces of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality, this release is part of the Wonders of Australia Series, which celebrates Australia’s fascinating landscapes and natural wonders. At the heart of the design is the Australian Outback, a vast and unspoiled region of extraordinary natural beauty, characterized by deep canyons, arid desert landscapes, lush rainforests and impressive coastal areas. The intricately designed motive depicts several kangaroos moving dynamically across the rugged Australian terrain. In the background, a setting sun glows brightly, gilded in radiant yellow gold. The sky and outer rim of the coin are additionally enhanced with high-quality rose gold gilding. Also included in the design are The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark and the year of issue 2026.

The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne. The design is complemented by the inscription “AUSTRALIA”, the denomination of 8 Dollars, the weight of 5 oz and the fineness “9999 Ag”. The outer rim is decorated with depictions of native Australian flora and fauna and echoes the rose gold gilding of the motive.
