- First triangular-shaped bullion coin in Antique Finish
- 1st Issue of the 4 coin Series 'Australian Shipwreck'
- 99,9% Silver
- Limited Mintage of only 1,000 pieces
- Delivery in triangular-shaped Capsule
The first issue of the Australian Shipwreck series is dedicated to one of Australia's most infamous shipwreck, the Batavia. This world's first triangular-shaped bullion coin in Antique Finish was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from one ounce of 99,9% silver. With the image of the ship viewed upright, the Batavia is shown setting sail in its full glory. Flipping the coin to view the text of ‘1629’ and ‘Batavia’ upright, the ship is depicted in its final state capsized shortly after wrecking in 1629. The design also shows unique elements from the Batavia. The reverse features the fighting between the survivors as a result of the mutiny before the final demise of the Batavia. The Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are also part of the design. The strictly limited Antique Finish silver bullion coin is delivered in a triangular capsule of the Royal Australian Mint.
