The second release in the Australian Shipwreck Series is dedicated to the sailing ship Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon). The triangular-shaped bullion coin in Antique Finish was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1 ounce of 99.9% silver. The image of the ship viewed upright depicts the Gilt Dragon surrounded by decorative maritime ornaments. When flipping the coin the inscriptions "VERGULDE DRAECK", "1656" and "1 oz .999 Ag" are visible. The reverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and depicts a scene with the capsized ship shortly after its shipwreck. In the foreground loaded goods of the ship are floating in the water and some sailors try to escape on a small boat. In the background the tilting sailing ship is depicted. The mintage is limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide. The Antique Finish silver bullion coin is delivered in a triangular-shaped capsule of the Royal Australian Mint.
