The third release in the Australian Shipwreck Series is dedicated to the sailing ship Zuytdorp. The triangular-shaped bullion coin in Antique Finish was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1 ounce of 99.9% silver. On the motive the Zuytdorp is shown setting sail in its full glory. It is framed by decorative maritime ornaments. When flipping the coin the weight and fineness as well as the inscription "ZUYTDORP 1712" are visible. The reverse depicts scenes from the dramatic history of the sailing ship. The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination are also part of the design. In 1711, Dutch East India Company ship, the Zuytdorp, set out for it's third and final voyage and disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Onboard were more than 200 men and precious cargo comprising 250,000 silver coins. Only 200 years later a wreck on the west coast of Australia could be identified as the Zuytdorp - based on the numerous silver coins found with the inscription "Zeeland" and "1711". The mintage is limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide. The Antique Finish silver bullion coin is delivered in a triangular-shaped capsule of the Royal Australian Mint.
