The first issue of the new Junji Ito Collection is dedicated to the story of Tomie by Japanese manga artist Junji Ito. The rectangular Prooflike coin was struck from 99.9% silver and presents the protagonist Tomie from Junji Ito's work of the same name, recognizable by her smooth, dark hair and characteristic beauty mark. She is sitting on a chair with her hands crossed. The reliefs behind the image and the background provide additional depth. Each coin has been provided with an individual numbering. The reverse features the coat of arms of Cameroon, the inscriptions “2000 FRANCS”, “CAMEROON 2024”, “SILVER.999 1 oz” and the copyright.

The story is about a fascinating and immortal girl who has the ability to drive any man mad. The men fall into an obsessive love that often ends in violent behavior. Although Tomie is killed again and again, she recovers each time and continues the story anew.
