With this 2024 Peace Dollar Coin struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver, the Royal Canadian Mint recalls the common vision of peace and freedom. The coin was finished with yellow gold and features the profile of Lady Peace, whose head is crowned by a wreath of maple leaves. The portrait is surrounded by the inscription "PAX 2024" and the Canadian national motto "A MARI USQUE AD MARE" (From Sea to Sea). The reverse shows the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "CANADA", "D.G.REGINA", "1952-2022" and the denomination "DOLLAR" are also included in the design.

The coin in Ultra-High Relief has been given a new field pattern made of stylized maple leafs and ribbons to create a truly dynamic, high-contrast design. The pattern is inspired by Lady Peace’s uniquely Canadian headpiece. The edition is limited to 7,000 pieces worldwide. The very first Peace Dollar was struck by the US-American Mint in 1921 to commemorate the peace after World War I. The Canadian Secretary of State Lester B. Pearson finally organized the first UN peacekeeping force in 1957. These and other efforts not only earned him the Nobel Peace Prize - they also helped to consolidate Canada's reputation as a peacekeeping and peace-loving nation.
