The new Masters of Art series is dedicated to famous artists, combining a famous painting with a portrait of the artist. The first issue is dedicated to French painter Claude Monet (1840-1926), combining a work from his famous "Water Lily Series" with a self-portrait of the artist. Monet had a particular fondness for the water lilies that grew in the pond of his garden in Giverny and subsequently created more than 250 individual paintings with the motive until the end of his life. The original painting is on display in the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. The coin was minted from two ounces of 99.9% silver in color and Ultra High Relief and is limited to only 1,500 pieces worldwide.
