The first issue is dedicated to Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), combining his famous painting "Wheat Field with Cypresses" with a self-portrait of the artist. Van Gogh completed the painting in 1889, only about a year before his self-inflicted death. The original painting has been on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City since 1993. The coin was minted from two ounces of 99.9% silver in color and Ultra High Relief and is limited to only 999 pieces worldwide.
