This coin minted from 99,9% silver combines the two works of Leonardo da Vinci and Wilhelm Röntgen. The motive of the coin features the drawing of the Vitruvian Man from 1490. It is surrounded by historical sketches and notes and representes da Vinci's concept of the ideal human body proportions. Due to the unique smartminting© technology the drawing clearly stands out with a particularly detailed and realistic look. On the reverse the Vivtruvian Man is visible as a colored X-ray image. Wilhelm Röntgen invented the medical device in 1895, when he took a picture of his wife's hand on a photographic plate formed due to X-rays. The inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "5 DOLLARS" and "COOK ISLANDS" are also included in the design.
