The Monnaie de Paris has issued this 10 Euro silver coin in commemoration of the D-Day, which took place on June 6th, 1944. The motive of the coin shows different types of military operations and the lettering "D-DAY", whose letters consist of the American, British, French and Canadian flags. In the foreground is a Dakota accompanied by Spitfire and Mustang fighters. In the background are paratroopers and other small aircraft symbolic of the air operations being carried out. On the ground, land forces emerge from a barge. The reverse shows the flags of the Allied countries that participated in the legendary Normandy landings. The denomination and year of issue are also part of the design. The limited silver coin for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
