Description
30 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall
10 Euro - 22,2 gr. Silver - Proof
- Special Edition for the 30th Anniversary
- In original Box with Certificate of Authenticity
After the Second World War, Germany was divided into various powers of the Allies. The division of Germany began with the introduction of a new independent currency in the Western and Eastern zones. Between 1949 and 1961, about 2.6 million GDR citizens left their country to the west. On 26 May 1952, the Council of Ministers of the GDR decided to secure the border with West Germany by building a wall. Since its construction in 1961, the Berlin Wall separated the west from the eastern part and the GDR was a hermetically sealed border fortification system. After more than 28 years, the wall was opened on 9th November 1989 and Germany was reunited. France commemorates this important milestone 30 years ago with this 10 Euro silver coin in proof quality. The Fall of the Berlin Wall silver coin has a special shape and contains the inscriptions 'BERLIN - 30 JAHRE MAUERFALL". On the value side are the words '30 ANS DE LA CHUTE DU MUR DE BERLIN', '1989', '2019' and '10 €'.
