The Monnaie de Paris youth series pays homage to arguably the world's most famous Gauls, created over 60 years ago by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo - Asterix and Obelix. The issue entitled "Asterix & the Griffin" presents the cover of the comic strip of the same name, newly published in 2021. The colorful motive of the 10 Euro silver coin shows Asterix and Obelix amidst a snowy landscape. While Asterix sits on his horse and keeps a lookout, Obelix tries to catch his faithful companion Dogmatix, who is sitting on the top of a tree with a mysterious figure. The year of issue "2022" and the copyright are also included in the design. The reverse features the iconic trio once again, with Asterix and Obelix each holding up one of the denomination's digits, demonstrating their extraordinary strength and energy. The little dog Dogmatix follows his master Obelix wherever he goes. The limited commemorative coin in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
