This 1 oz silver coin from France is dedicated to the Year of the Tiger. Following the rat and the ox, the tiger is the third of a total of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiacal calendar, which is not aligned with the sun, but with the moon. The motive of the coin shows a magnificent tiger that seems to come out of the door, which is clearly visible on the reverse of the coin. He creeps towards the viewer of the coin in a crouched posture and with his mouth open. Traditional Chinese ornaments surround the tiger and to the right of him is the Chinese character for "tiger". The inscription "2022 ANNÉE DU TIGRE" was engraved on the lower edge of the coin. The reverse depicts the twelve animals of the Chinese lunar calendar with traditional Chinese artistic elements. The denomination "20 EURO" and the inscription "CALENDRIER CHINOIS" complete the design. Those born under the sign of the Tiger are considered to be particularly courageous, enthusiastic and powerful.
