On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the 1st Grand Prix of the Automobile Club de France, the Monnaie de Paris has issued this silver coin in proof quality. The design depicts the steering wheel of a racing car. Also included in the design is the speedometer display, the profile of a historic racing car, and the inscriptions "LE MANS 1906" and "CENTENAIRE DU 1er GRAND PRIX DE L'AUTOMOBILE CLUB DE FRANCE". The reverse depicts another steering wheel, as well as the racetrack of the Grand Prix held in France in 2006. The design is surrounded by the inscription "MAGNY-COURS 2006" and the denomination "1 1/2 EURO". The limited commemorative silver coin from France is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
