On the occasion of the Rugby World Cup in 2007, the Monnaie de Paris has issued this silver coin in proof quality. The sports event took place from September 7th to October 20th in 2007 at venues in France, Wales and Scotland. The design depicts two rugby players on the field. They are surrounded by the inscriptions "COUPE DU MONDE DE RUGBY" and "2007 FRANCE". The reverse features the official logo of the Rugby Union World Cup inside a rugby goal. Also included in the design is the denomination "1 1/2 EURO" and the year of issue "2007". The limited commemorative silver coin from France is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
