On the occasion of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, the Monnaie de Paris has issued this silver coin in proof quality to celebrate the popular international competition. The motive is dedicated to the French team, also known as "XV de France", in support of the national team (FFR). Depicted are three key players of the French team: Gaël Fickou, Antoine Dupont and Gregory Aldritt, while singing the Marseillaise together. Their jerseys feature the rooster, the official logo of France Rugby, and the "RF" mint mark of the Monnaie de Paris. The inscription "XV de France" is engraved on the upper edge of the coin. The reverse of the coin features the silhouettes of the three players, as well as the denomination "10 Euro".

The 10th Rugby World Cup will be held in France from 8th of September to 28th of October 2023. This will be the country's second time as host after the World Cup in 2007 and its first time as sole organizer. The limited commemorative coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
