With the French Excellence series, the Monnaie de Paris celebrates the tradition of fine French craftsmanship. The 2021 edition pays homage to the first perfume created by Christian Dior - Miss Dior. To further pay tribute to the iconic packaging of the floral fragrance, the coin was struck from 99.9% silver in the shape of the bow located on top of the bottle. The reverse features the famous houndstooth emblem of Dior House as well as the denomination and year of issue. Christian Dior is a French luxury goods manufacturer, founded by the namesake Christian Dior in 1946. The house's first perfume, Miss Dior, was launched in 1947 and paved the way for more than 40 other fragrances in a wide range of variations. To this day, Miss Dior remains one of the world's classics among women's perfumes. The limited commemorative coin in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
