The silver coin "Hans in Luck" is the twelfth issue of the series 200 Years of Grimm's Fairy Tales, which began in 2012. The timeless children's and house fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm were first published in 1812 and have been part of the World Documentary Heritage since 2005. The motive of the coin features Hans in Luck and the animals that he exchanges for each other in the course of the fairy tale. After Hans was rewarded for good work by his master with a lump of gold, he first exchanged it for a horse, which in turn was followed by other exchanges. In this way, one after the other, a cow, a pig, a goose and a grindstone came into his possession. When the grindstone finally falls into a well, Hans returns home to his mother completely without any possessions, but also completely free of worries, and tells her about his lucky story. The motive also features the inscriptions "HANS IM GLÜCK" and "GRIMMS MÄRCHEN". The reverse shows the federal eagle, the lettering "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", the denomination, the year 2023 and the twelve European stars. The 20 Euro commemorative coin "Hans in Luck" in proof quality is delivered in an illustrated blistercard.
