The silver coin "Mother Hulda" is the tenth issue of the series 200 Years of Grimm's Fairy Tales, which began in 2012. The timeless children's and house fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm were first published in 1812 and have been part of the World Documentary Heritage since 2005. The coin was designed by artist Jordi Truxa. The motive features a collage of the most famous scenes from the fairy tale "Mother Hulda" - it shows how she shakes the pillows at the open window so that it snows on the ground. In an archway below are the two stepsisters who could not be more different from each other. While the kind and diligent sister is rewarded with a golden rain after her work, only thick drops of black pitch fall on the lazy one. The reverse shows the federal eagle, the lettering "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", denomination and currency, the mintmark "F" of the Stuttgart mint, the year 2021 and the twelve European stars. The edge of the coin contains the inscription: "THIS IS TO REWARD YOUR SERVICES" - this phrase was uttered by Mother Hulda after she had showered the lazy of the two sisters with a cauldron of pitch instead of the gold she hoped for. The 20 Euro commemorative coin "Mother Hulda" in proof quality is delivered in an illustrated blistercard.
