The silver coin "Rumpelstiltskin" is the eleventh issue of the series 200 Years of Grimm's Fairy Tales, which began in 2012. The timeless children's and house fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm were first published in 1812 and have been part of the World Documentary Heritage since 2005. The coin was designed by artist Jordi Truxa. The motive depicts Rumpelstiltskin and the miller's daughter, who later becomes the queen in the fairy tale. Also shown is the cradle of her firstborn, which she had to promise to Rumpelstiltskin after he helped her spin large amounts of straw into gold for the king. After several failed attempts to guess the name of the strange man, Rumpelstiltskin finally reveals the name himself with the song "tonight tonight, my plans I make, tomorrow tomorrow, the baby I take. The queen will never win the game, for Rumpelstiltskin is my name", so that the queen can keep her child and Rumpelstiltskin splits himself in two full of rage. The motive also features the inscriptions "RUMPELSTILZCHEN" and "GRIMMS MÄRCHEN". The reverse shows the federal eagle, the lettering "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", the denomination, the year 2022 and the twelve European stars. The 20 Euro commemorative coin "Rumpelstiltskin" in proof quality is delivered in an illustrated blistercard.
