The silver coin is dedicated to the German Child Welfare Association, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022. The coin was designed by artist Susanne Jünger from Berlin and shows the two logo figures of the German Child Welfare Association. They are depicted together with a stylized representation of the hexagonal donation box in various sizes and are in the colors of the German Child Welfare Association - red and blue. The motive gives the impression that the figures are playfully throwing the eight hexagons into the air. The inscription "50 JAHRE DEUTSCHES KINDERHILFSWERK" is also included in the design. The edge of the coin contains the inscription "AUF DIE KINDER KOMMT ES AN". The reverse shows the federal eagle, the words "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", the denomination and currency, the mintmark "D" of the Munich mint, the year 2022 and the twelve stars of Europe.

The German Child Welfare Association is an organization founded in 1972 to promote greater implementation of children's rights in Germany. It supports a child-friendly Germany with equal opportunities for all children, focusing on measures that promote the participation of children and young people - regardless of factors such as origin or residence status. Furthermore, the organization sees itself tasked with enabling cultural education and the competent use of media.
