Germany has issued this 20 Euro silver coin in honor of the 50th Anniversary of The Show with the Mouse. The motive depicts a representation of the mouse in it's characteristic colors orange and brown. She looks mischievously in the direction of the gift she is holding. The inscriptions "DIE SENDUNG MIT DER MAUS" and "50 JAHRE" are also included in the design. The reverse shows the federal eagle, the words "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", the denomination, the mintmark "A" of the Berlin mint, the year 2021 and the twelve stars of Europe. The "Show with the Mouse" is one of the most successful children's programs on German television. It has been broadcast every Sunday morning since 1971 and will thus celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2021. The program is characterized by the three basic elements of "factual stories," "laugh stories" and animated mouse spots. The three elements are often thematically coordinated. The opening credits always introduce the topics of the program - after having been presented in German, a second presentation of the program topics follows in a foreign language (which in turn is followed by an explanation, e.g.: "That was Italian").
