Sophia Magdalena Scholl (09.05.1921 - 22.02.1943) was a German student who was politically active against National Socialism and was active in the non-violent resistance group "White Rose". She was convicted of treason after being caught distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich (LMU) with her brother Hans, and was subsequently executed. Since the 1970s, Sophie Scholl has been widely honored for her involvement in the resistance against National Socialism.
