This silver commemorative coin is dedicated to the 125th birthday of Wilhelm Heinrich Otto Dix. The painter and graphic artist was born on 2 December 1891 in Gera, he is one of the important artists of the 20th century. Dix dominated exceptional Variety of styles from Expressionism Dadaism through to realism. His famous paintings are the New Objectivity (realism) attributed. In the sixties he received various honors and Prices in both parts of Germany. On July 25, 1969, he died in Singen am Hohentwiel.
