After CIT had already issued three Fabergé coins in 2020, 2021 and 2022 in memory of Russian jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé, this exceptional issue honors another of his works - the Tsarevich Egg. The motive shows the Tsarevich Egg made of blue lapis lazuli, decorated with gold and diamonds. In the background are elaborate ornaments inspired by the design of the unique work of art. Also included in the design is the inscription "Peter Carl Fabergé - Tsarevich Egg". The reverse shows the coat of arms of the Mongolian National Bank as well as the weight, fineness and denomination. The Tsarevich Egg, which was designed in 1912, was a gift from Tsar Nicholas II to his wife Alexandra Fyodorovna. The occasion was her miraculous recovery from a serious illness. Inside the original is a double-headed imperial eagle holding a portrait of Alexei Nikolaevich, the seven-year-old son of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra. The imperial egg is currently displayed at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, USA.
