The gilded Kiwi silver coin in proof quality shows a North Island brown kiwi (Apteryx Mantelli). The detailed image of the kiwi stands out becuase it was partially gold plated. Kiwis are flightless birds and native on the New Zealand North Island and offshore islands of New Zealand. This large kiwi species has been classified as critically endangered by the IUCN because the stocks are considered almost extinct by introduced predators (such as dogs and cats). The motive is surrounded by the words 'ONE DOLLAR' and 'BROWN KIWI - APTERYX MANTELLI'. The obverse of the gilded one ounce 99,9% silver coin shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth with the inscriptions 'NEW ZEALAND', '.999 Ag 1oz', 'ELIZABETH II' and '2019'. The silver coin with the gilded kiwi motive is presented in a case and an original packaging including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
