This silver coin of New Zealand Post is dedicated to the smallest native frog in New Zealand - the Archey's frog. Struck from two ounces of 99.9% silver in antique finish, the motive features the Archey's frog in color. The design also includes the inscription "ARCHEY'S FROG" and the denomination. The reverse depicts the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the inscriptions "NEW ZEALAND", ".999 Ag 2oz", "ELIZABETH II" and "2022".

The Archey's Frog (Leiopelma archeyi) is a species of the New Zealand Primitive Frog family (Leiopelmatidae) and is found primarily on New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula. In 1942, the frogs were discovered by zoologist Evan Graham Turbott. The Archey's frog can reach a length of up to 37 mm and is one of the four remaining native frog species in New Zealand.
