This rectangular medallion was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is the fourth silver medallion from the Game of Thrones™ Collection from the New Zealand Mint. The motive features an image of the Iron Throne, the seat of the King of the Seven Kingdoms, as well as the iconic "GOT" logo of the fantasy series. The reverse of the medallion shows details of the Iron Throne. The Antique finish emphasizes the appearance of the throne, which was made from the steel swords of defeated enemies. Also included in the design are the official copyright, the fineness and the weight.

Game of Thrones™ is a U.S. fantasy television series based on the novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by U.S. author George R. R. Martin. In the worldwide popular fantasy drama, nine noble families fight for supremacy in the mythical lands of Westeros. The Iron Throne is located in the Great Hall of the Red Keep in King's Landing. Originally erected by Aegon I Targaryen, the cold and sharp-edged throne, whose back is studded with numerous steel prongs, is emblematic of the king's authority. It is composed of countless swords that Aegon received from the defeated lords after his wars of conquest, and whose blades were melted down by his dragon Balerion. The queens and kings reigning on the Iron Throne were provided by the houses of Targaryen, Baratheon and Lannister. After the death of Daenerys Targaryen, the throne was destroyed by the fire of her dragon Drogon.
