The colored motive of the coin celebrates Earth's neighboring planet and shows a detailed depiction of an astronaut standing on the Martian moon Phobos and taking in the spectacular sight of the bright red Mars. The galaxy can be seen in the background, and the inscription "MARS FROM PHOBOS" has been engraved and positioned appropriately on the planet and the moon. The reverse features the effigy of King Charles III as well as the weight, fineness, denomination and year of issue.
