The sixth edition of the Czech Mint's limited Solar System Series is dedicated to Mars. Like the previous editions in the series - Sun (1.), Moon (2.), Earth (3.), Mercury (4.) and Venus (5.) - the coin has been refined with the "Lunar dust effect", which is a combination of proofing, sandblasting and laser. Besides Mars, other planets of our solar system with their orbits are visible on the motive. However, Mars stands out clearly from the other planets due to its authentic color. The design also includes the inscription "MARS". The reverse depicts the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, framed by orbits and planets. Earth's neighbouring planet is the fourth planet from the sun in our solar system. With a diameter of nearly 6,800 km, it is only half the size of Earth. Mars is a terrestrial planet with mountains, volcanoes and ice-covered polar caps. Because of its color, which is due to iron oxides, it is also called "The Red Planet". The limited silver proof coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
