The motive in color depicts a reef that contrasts with the bright blue turquoise of the ocean in spectacular shades of purple and red. Corals, a sea turtle and fish have been engraved in the foreground. In addition, the inscription “COLOURS OF AUSTRALIA - TURQUOISE CORAL REEFS” can be seen along the edge of the coin. The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III and the inscriptions "ONE DOLLAR", "1OZ 999 SILVER" and "NIUE 2024".
Coral reefs are extremely important for the protection of biodiversity and coastal protection. Probably the most famous coral reef in Australia is the Great Barrier Reef, which consists of a collection of over 2900 individual coral reefs and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. This impressive natural wonder, which is so large that it can even be seen from space, is home to numerous fish, corals and molluscs and is considered one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. The limited Colours of Australia - Turquoise Coral Reefs silver coin in color is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
