The gilded silver coin is dedicated to the Australian honey bee (Apis mellifera). Minted from one ounce of 99.9% silver in Black Proof quality, the partly gilded design features a honeycomb, flowers, and five bees. Within the honeycomb is the inscription “HONEY BEE.” The obverse depicts the effigy of King Charles III, along with the weight, fineness, denomination, and year of issue.
