The first issue of the new Disney™ - Chibi Series is dedicated to Mickey Mouse™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality. The special feature of this coin is its special shape in "Chibi Art" style. Chibi figures are characterized by their disproportionately large head and a relatively small body. This strongly belittles the depicted characters. The unusual Chibi shape makes this silver coin a highlight for every Disney™ fan and coin collector. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. The mintage is strictly limited to only 2,000 pieces worldwide. Mickey Mouse™ is an animated character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Together with his friends, he is probably one of the most famous art figures in the world. Mickey Mouse™ first became famous in the first animated film with sound called "Steamboat Willie" from 1928.
