The eighth issue of the Harry Potter™ Chibi series from the New Zealand Mint is dedicated to Sirius Black™. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality. The special feature of this coin is its special shape in "Chibi Art" style. Chibi figures are characterized by their disproportionately large head and a relatively small body. This strongly belittles the depicted characters. The unusual Chibi shape makes this silver coin a highlight for every Harry Potter™ fan and coin collector. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. The mintage is limited to only 2,000 pieces worldwide. Sirius Black™, also known as Padfoot or Snuffels, was the godfather of Harry Potter™. He was wrongfully sent to the infamous Prison of Azkaban for the murder of Peter Pettigrew and the Potters. Due to his ability of changing into an Animagus, he was able to escape the prison in the third part of the series. On his return, he rejoined the Order of the Phoenix to fight against Lord Voldemort™. Until his death, he maintained a loving relationship with his godchild Harry Potter™ and together they dreamed of a future as a small family.
