The sixth issue of the The Lord of the Rings™ - Chibi Series is dedicated to Aragorn™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality. The special feature of this coin is its special shape in "Chibi Art" style. Chibi figures are characterized by their disproportionately large head and a relatively small body. This strongly belittles the depicted characters. The unusual Chibi shape makes this silver coin a highlight for every Lord of the Rings™ fan and coin collector. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. The mintage is strictly limited to only 2,000 pieces worldwide. Aragorn is heir to the throne of Gondor, later High King of Arnor and Gondor, and belonged to the Dúnedain. As part of the Fellowship of the Ring surrounding Frodo Baggins™, he tried to do everything in his power to bring the One Ring to Mordor and destroy it in the fiery depths of Mount Doom. The dangerous journey, however, send the fellowship in different directions. Aragorn, the Dwarf Gimli™ and the Elf Legolas™ made it their mission to free the captured hobbits Merry and Pippin. An unusual friendship between human, elf and dwarf developed on the journey that lasted until their deaths.
