The twelfth release in the STAR WARS™ - Chibi Series is dedicated to Padmé Amidala™ - the wife of Anakin Skywalker™ and Queen of Naboo. She is known from the three movies "STAR WARS: The Phantom Menace", "STAR WARS: Attack of the Clones" and "STAR WARS: Revenge of the Sith". She was appointed Queen of Naboo at the age of 14, but resigned from the post 8 years later and then officially represented the people of Naboo as a senator in the Senate. Padmé first met Anakin Skywalker™ on the remote desert world of Tatooine and fell in love with him many years later. She died in 19 VSY after giving birth to twins Luke Skywalker™ and Leia Organa™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality. The special feature of this coin is its special shape in "Chibi Art" style. Chibi figures are characterized by their disproportionately large head and a relatively small body. This strongly belittles the depicted characters. The unusual Chibi shape makes this silver coin a highlight for every STAR WARS™ fan and coin collector. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. The mintage is limited to only 2,000 pieces worldwide.
