To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Goofy™, the New Zealand Mint has issued this officially licensed silver coin in color. Struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality, the motive features a colorful depiction of Goofy™ with his friend, the grasshopper Wilbur™, during a fishing trip together. The scene comes from the animated film "Goofy and Wilbur," in which Goofy™ was first given a starring role. The weight, fineness and Disney™ copyright are also included in the design. The reverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue.

Goofy™ made his first appearance as a supporting character in May 1932 in the short film "Mickey's Revue". Since then, it has been impossible to imagine the Disney™ universe without Mickey™'s lovable, helpful and somewhat clumsy friend, and he continues to delight young and old alike with his funny appearance and trademark chuckling laugh. The limited mintage of only 1,932 pieces is based on the year in which Goofy first appeared. The colored silver proof coin for the 90th anniversary of Goofy is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
