To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Bambi™, the New Zealand Mint has issued this silver coin in color. Struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality, the motive of the fourth and final issue features a colorful depiction of Bambi™ with a butterfly on his tail. To the right is his friend Thumper™ with his two sisters. The weight and fineness are also included in the design and have been engraved on the bottom edge of the coin. The reverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue.

The Disney™ animated film about the adolescent deer Bambi™ is based on the 1923 book of the same name. The film premiered in August 1942 and took viewers' hearts by storm. To this day, Bambi™ is considered a timeless classic in film history and one of Walt Disney™'s greatest masterpieces. The limited mintage of only 1,942 pieces is based on the year in which Bambi™ first appeared. The silver coin for the 80th anniversary of Bambi™ is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
