The second issue of the new Disney™ - Mickey™ & Friends Shaped Series is dedicated to Pluto™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver in the shape of the famous cartoon character. The colorful motive depicts Pluto™ walking with his ears perked up and a joyful expression on his face. The reverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the year of issue "2021" and the denomination "TWO DOLLARS". Pluto™ is Mickey Mouse's™ dog, who first appeared as a nameless bloodhound in the 1930 animated film "The Chain Gang". He is a special character of Walt Disney's animated world, since he is not only anthropomorphic and has a wide range of facial expressions, but is also portrayed as a normal dog that lacks speech and the ability to walk upright. The shaped Pluto™ silver proof coin is delivered in the original box from the New Zealand Mint including a certificate of authenticity.
