This rectangular coin from the New Zealand Mint is dedicated to Sleeping Beauty. Struck from 5 ounces of 99.9% silver in proof quality, the coin features a replica image in color of the original poster. The reverse shows the effigy of King Charles III as well as the denomination and year of issue.

Sleeping Beauty™ is based on the story "La Belle au Bois dormant" (The Sleeping Beauty in the Woods) by Charles Perrault. The film tells the story of Princess Aurora™, to whose christening all fairies are invited with the exception of the dark fairy "Malefiz™". Malefiz appears nevertheless and curses the princess - on her 16th birthday she should prick her finger with a spindle and die of it. However, another fairy is able to change the death curse so that Aurora™ falls into a deep sleep after pricking herself with the spindle. From this deep sleep, only "true love's kiss" can awaken her.
