The uniquely shaped coin in comic style was issued on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of E.T.™ - The Extraterrestrial. Struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver, the coin recreates the protagonist of the 1982 film, the alien E.T.™, in a blue plaid shirt. The reverse shows the coat of arms of Niue as well as the weight, fineness, the year of issue "2022", the denomination "TWO DOLLARS" and the copyright.

Director Steven Spielberg's masterpiece is about the extraordinary friendship that develops between an alien stranded on Earth and a ten-year-old boy named Elliott.
