The new Harry Potter™ Book Cover series from the New Zealand Mint is dedicated to the famous Harry Potter books. The rectangular coin was struck from two ounces of 99.9% silver in proof quality and features an image of the cover of the first volume of the Harry Potter book series, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". The cover illustrates the young wizard Harry Potter flying on a broom while his gaze is fixed on the title of the book. The impressive Hogwarts Castle rises up in the background, embedded in a mysterious setting. A galloping unicorn running towards a forest is also featured. The reverse shows the official Niue coat of arms as well as the year of issue “2025”, the denomination “THREE DOLLARS”, the copyright and the individual numbering of the coin.

The book tells the story of a young orphan boy named Harry Potter, who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard.
